History
The Alpha Rho chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon was initially chartered at the University of South Carolina in 1966. During the 1958-1968 time period, Pi Sigma Epsilon grew from six to forty-seven chapters, with Alpha Rho being the forty-first chapter established. Today, there are over fifty active chapters of Pi Sigma Epsilon across the United States. Alpha Rho was rechartered in 2024 and continues to thrive among these chapters.

Purposes
Pi Sigma Epsilon's six purposes are the reason that it exists. The Fraternity adheres to these purposes:

To create a collegiate organization of students who are interested in the advancement of sales and marketing as a career and profession

To bring together academically qualified students who express a desire to enter the fields of professional sales and marketing

To encourage in colleges and universities the establishment of courses preparing students for careers in professional sales and marketing

Common Majors
Pi Sigma Epsilon welcomes all majors. While the most common major in our chapter is currently Marketing, our members study a variety of majors including Retailing, Media Arts, Integrated Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, and Political Science.
